Día de la Felicidad

Este 20 de marzo se celebró el primer Día Internacional de la Felicidad. Esta ha sido una iniciativa de las Naciones Unidas, después de realizar el año pasado una cumbre sobre este tema.  La búsqueda de la felicidad es una meta humana fundamental.

Day of Happiness

The first International Day of Happiness was celebrated this March 20^th. It is an initiative driven by the United Nations, after a summit organized last year on the topic. The pursuit of happiness is a fundamental human goal.    

Pioneros reciben premio

Las grandes contribuciones de los pioneros de internet han sido reconocidas con el Premio Queen Elizabeth en el campo de la ingeniería. Robert Kahn, Vinton Cerf, Louis Pouzin, Tim Berners-Lee y Marc Andreessen comparten este premio. Pouzin, Kahn y Cerf son pioneros en el Protocolo de Internet (IP), para la arquitectura fundamental de Internet. Andressen escribió el navegador Mosaic que hizo la web más accesible. Berners-Lee es el más conocido por desarrollar la World Wide Web, que simplifica la forma en que la información es compartida.

Pioneers receive award

The great contributions of internet pioneers have been acknowledged with the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering. Robert Kahn, Vinton Cerf, Louis Pouzin, Tim Berners-Lee, and Marc Andreessen share this award. Pouzin, Kahn and Cerf are pioneers in Internet Protocol (IP), which makes up the fundamental architecture of the Internet. Andreessen wrote the Mosaic browser that made the web more accessible. Berners-Lee is the most well known for developing the World Wide Web, that simplifies the way information is shared.

Nos inspira la creatividad de las personas que han contribuido con su trabajo al avance de la humanidad. Algunos de los más grandes inventos y logros han sido producto de perseverancia y mente abierta ante los obstáculos y las cosas que salieron de manera diferente a lo planeado. Esto nos hace pensar que todo es posible con voluntad. De esto habla la canción “Reach” de Gloria Estefan.

We are inspired by the creativity of people that have contributed with their work to the advancement of humanity. Some of the greatest inventions and achievements were a product of perseverance and open mind in front of obstacles and things that went different from what was originally planned. This makes us think that everything is possible with conviction. This is what the song “Reach”, from Gloria Estefan, is about.
